women's Soul support coaching groups:
The heart of winter:
what this group is and is not
This coaching group is for high-functioning individuals who are motivated to take some leaps of faith and find peace and freedom in their lives. Note: Falling apart and melting down is OKAY!
This group is not a therapy group per se, but functions as a way for us to compost the past and move forward fearlessly and courageously into the light of a new way of being. In the spirit of safety and integrity, if you are suffering from a serious mental illness or require a lot of one on one attention, then this group is probably not for you. I am not a licensed mental health professional.

Soulful Schedule (subject to change depending on group needs etc):
Week 1) Welcoming Winter & Our Circle of Women: During this first session, we'll ground deeply into ourselves and get centered and still. In our newly formed group we will create sacred & safe space, set solid ground rules & get to know each other a bit. We will introduce ourselves with the invitation to share a little bit about what called each of us to this group at this time. I will also introduce us to the great 'Wheel of the Year' and some of the symbology of winter as a time of spiritual hibernation and dormancy and we'll explore the many gifts of this time of year.
Nature has so much to teach us about embracing and allowing the flow of time and the rhythm of change. We'll dive into acknowledging where we each are on our own spiritual journey & begin this 10 weeks together, in a spirit of compassion, acceptance and support.
Please bring something for the alter that represents your intention for being a part of this group.
Week 2) Taking Stock & Tuning Into a NEW YEAR: Didn't have time to really think about or set intentions for the new year? We'll take some time this week to offer our gratitude for the year that has passed, and plant some seeds of intention for the new year to come. Winter is the perfect time to reflect and remember what has transpired, to tie up any loose ends with grace and then to begin with a fresh clean palate that is a new beginning. We'll do a group ritual to shed and release the old cycle. Then, we'll get out our journals, markers and pens in this session to dream up & visualize the new. We will tap into our inner artist, whether this means, journaling, drawing, collaging, or crafting. I'll bring supplies, but feel free to bring your own as well.
What will 2018 be about for you?
Week 3) Concrete Tools for Winter Resilience: So we have reached the depths of winter. How do we nourish ourselves this time of year? How do we stay emotionally, physically and mentally vital and in balance? We will explore some powerful tools for extreme self care that will nourish us in the days and weeks to come. We will also share with each other strategies and tools that have worked for us in the past. Know that even simple little things, like watching birds on a winter feeder, can nourish the soul and spirit. Radical nourishment can be surprisingly easy and affordable! We will also acknowledge and work with what holds us back from doing the things that we know support our soul. What blocks resilience and what creates the conditions for it to exist?
Week 3) Embracing the Shadows & Light: Each of us holds elements of darkness and light. We will learn about the 'shadow effect' and the parts of ourselves that are behaving unconsciously that could be brought up into the light of awareness to be held with love and compassion. We'll invite the 'demons' in for tea and conversation and learn about how the shadow, which holds the repressed, stuck aspects of ourselves, can wreak havoc on our lives and relationships. Learn some tools for making the dark side conscious this week. Through awareness we can learn to befriend the shadows and coax them out into light for our own healing, growth and transformation.
Week 4) Shoveling Snow & Chipping Away the Ice: Winter is the perfect season to take stock of the layers of crud that have accumulated on the soul's surface. Do we have any unfinished business that we could tend to? Are our root chakra needs in balance and harmony (like finances, health, well-being etc)? Where could we courageously face aspects of our life that are out of balance and create a truer more 'right' relationship with them. What metaphorical closets do we need to clean out and what extra weight do we need to let go of? In this session we will learn a specific powerful tool for working with a very stuck pattern or repetitive cycle that you can't quite seem to get a handle on. We'll also shovel out the heavy wet layers to make room for new possibilities and potential.
Week 5) Winter Warmth Spa Night! As a pre-Valentine's act of love toward ourselves, let's break out the oils, aromatherapy, salts and scrubs and set up a mini-spa at the studio. We can do this in pairs or by yourself (if you are more comfortable) but we'll create some winter glow for the body and soul with luscious hot-compresses, scents for the season, self or partner foot massages & scrubs, and delicious chocolates and treats. Get ready for some divine decadence and pampering just for you. I'll provide everything, but if you have any special products (organic, chemical-free) that you want to share, feel free to bring! This night will be a real treat for the senses and hopefully bring us some renewal and refreshment in the depths of winter.
Week 6) Happy Valentine's! Radical Self-Love & Acceptance: In a culture that worships couple-love, what does it mean to really and radically love ourselves- to show up for ourselves, respect ourselves and listen to our own hearts? How can we offer this level of presence out to others? What does it mean to be curious about the many different (and sometimes conflicting) selves within. In this session we'll explore ideas related to Self-Compassion and practice a simple yet powerful Loving-Kindness Meditation from the Buddhist tradition. We will end the evening crafting Valentine's and/or writing love letters to our hearts that I will then mail out in springtime.
Week 7) Enter the Dreamtime: In some cultures, winter is connected to the dreamtime, the great bear and North Star. In this dreamy, fun session we'll begin unpacking our dreams (literal & metaphorical) and visions. Please bring a few night dreams, written down, so we can share them with each other. Dreams can be magical, playful and fun to interpret. They also can be a great source of guidance on our journey and help us in waking life. We don't need to be experts to work with our dreams. In this session I'll offer tips & tools for dreamwork and also hopefully we'll have time to pull apart a few dreams that women bring with them. Everyone can participate!
Week 8) Living the Questions: At this time, we live in an instant culture- we can get almost anything we want- fast, quick and furious. Do we have the patience to wait and sit tight with the questions, unknowns, cloudiness and messiness in our lives? Can we be patient through the winter as we anticipate the spring? Can we be open, curious, compassionate explorers on our journey? As Rilke brilliantly writes, "I want to beg you, as much as I can, dear sir, to be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." Let's slow down & live the questions together this week.
Week 9) Planting Seeds of Growth & Renewal: We made it through winter! We are almost at spring! As we look towards this new season, we'll map out how we want things to be in this new cycle. The final throes of winter are a great time for mapping out your metaphorical garden so to speak. It is possible to create a life of regeneration, beauty, abundance and peace even after a long hard winter or a time of loss, challenge or change. After all, in some ways, that is what we are always doing consciously or unconsciously- creating the conditions for growth and growing things. Let's bring to consciousness that which we truly DESIRE to grow in our splendid garden!!
Week 10) Bringing It All Together on the First Day of SPRING!
Happy Spring Equinox! In our final session together, we will honor our journey, tie up any lose ends and celebrate all that we have gained and realized. This is a time for honoring endings and completions. As winter turns over the torch to spring~ we can begin again and again.
Let's share a pot-luck dinner together and ritual to close our sacred circle.
